ART DIRECTION & DESIGN by DETTA
The Wedding Party
THE CHALLENGE. A yearly event, The Wedding Party by Baltimore Weddings, a subset of Baltimore Magazine, was in need of a newer, more contemporary approach to their event design and overall aesthetic. Searching for a strategy to stand out surrounded by the recent ever-growing theatrics of the modern wedding industry, Baltimore Magazine reached out to DETTA to design a completely immersive event for engaged couples that was unlike anything they had done before.
THE CREATION: As Art Director and Designer, I developed a comprehensive visual and experiential concept that reimagined The Wedding Party into a fully immersive, editorial-inspired event. Guided by DETTA’s distinct aesthetic approach, I crafted a cohesive creative direction that fused modern romance with elevated, fashion-forward design—transforming the event into an interactive showcase that felt more like a live theatre than a traditional expo.
From spatial layout to tablescape styling to lighting and color palette, every element was intentionally designed to immerse attendees in a cinematic world of inspiration. I led the design and production of interactive vignettes, installations, and experiential touchpoints—curating an atmosphere that celebrated innovation in bridal fashion, beauty, and event styling. Collaborating with vendors, creative partners, and the editorial team, I ensured that the visual storytelling remained both editorially polished and commercially engaging.
The result was a rebranded event that broke the mold of conventional wedding showcases, capturing the attention of Baltimore’s modern couples and solidifying The Wedding Party as a fresh, design-led staple in the regional wedding industry.
